I was fortunate to be able to compete in the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon this weekend and was lucky to finish in very difficult conditions (winds gusted to over 40 MPH on the last five miles of the course). However, my accomplishment paled when compared to my girlfriend’s daughter, Kaitlin Skawinski. Due to various medical issues, she could barely walk just three short years ago. With minimal training, she finished her first half marathon on Saturday! Great job Kaitlin!
